About Me

It takes three dynamic and inquisitive kiddos to locate what has been lost, on this mesmerizing enchanted island. However, these three pop rocks must first escape from the stifling, confining walls of the children’s hospital without NURSE GRIM noticing. GusGus, Zurisadai and Paulie are the best of friends. They have faced incredible physical challenges, but this has not slowed their roll. The obstacles faced by these love bugs have only made them more tenacious, wiser, and more compassionate. My Work
Greetings! My name is Brenda Cornish Johnson. As a nurse, it has been my distinct honor to care for medically fragile children for seventeen years. Providing twenty-four hours/seven days a week observations, love and care to ventilator and non-ventilator dependent kiddos for many years in my home has afforded me a unique perspective of the vast nature of their being. My experience encompasses collaborating with educators, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, neurologist, cardiologist, pulmonologist, gastroenterologist, orthopedic surgeons and a host of medical staff often on a daily in the home care setting. I will be forever grateful to the children who have guided me and who continue to guide my unique journey. It is my distinct honor to present Butterflies in Disguise to the world.
